Friends of Riverside Park

The Riverside Park is one of Chester-le-Street’s most popular locations – would you like to be part of making it even better?

We are setting up a Friends of Riverside Group to harness the power of the community in developing the site.

Visitors come from all over the region, and further afield, to enjoy the many facilities at the Riverside.  The County Council team work tirelessly to keep the site looking good, and to plan improvements, but in an age of shrinking budgets, there are plenty of roles for people who care for the park.

When? An inaugural meeting will be held in June – if you would like to be informed of the date, please get in touch with the Chester-le-Street & District AAP and leave your contact details.

Get Involved

Volunteers are needed for a number of roles, including Chair, Secretary and Social Media Co-Ordinator.  Our first project will be a visitors survey of park users over the Summer period – we will plan this in more detail at the first meeting, but will need lots of help.

Even if you can’t come along to meetings, please give us your e-mail address and we will keep you up to date.  We will also be setting up a Facebook group.
